The Series I Almost Kept to Myself
The first series.
My first baby.
The one I'd be perfectly okay keeping to myself, just mine, living only in my head.
Do you know why?
Because once I share it, it leaves the protective cocoon I've kept it in.
But my biggest fans have told me it needs to be shared. So, bad reviews and all (hey, critics) I'll share.
The World of the First Series
The first series takes place in a post-apocalyptic world that mirrors how life looked about 100 years ago.
What Happened When I First Queried
When I first queried, I was told dystopian was out. I received no after no after no. Discouraging? Sure. But I've never let "no" stop me from chasing my dreams. So I kept pushing, with one new goal in place: prove them wrong and become wildly successful.
Meet the Main Character
Back to the series.
It centers around a girl.
A teenage girl on the edge of adulthood.
One of my goals was to write books my own children could read. They start as young adult and gradually cross into new adult territory. Yes, I know "new adult" isn't really a category yet, but I'm here to prove that wrong too.
The Tropes, the Books, and What Is Coming
Books 1-3 follow her journey, and book 4 is TBD.
Tropes include found family, forced proximity, coming of age, and a few more.
Not a Dystopian Reader? There Is Still Something for You
And if dystopian isn't your thing, guess what might be? The second series: contemporary fantasy.
