How Vivid Dreams Became My Reason to Write

The Dream That Started It All

Have you ever had a dream so vivid and detailed that you wake up gasping, devastated when you realize you don't know what happens next?

That's how I started writing.

My dreams are so vivid that I'm transported to a movie theater, watching as colors and action and romance dance across the screen.

I Have Always Been a Dreamer

Even when I was little, I remember telling my grandmothers about my dreams. I was always surprised to hear that other people didn't dream like me.

2018: The Dream That Changed Everything

That's when I had my first dream that made my husband say, "You need to write this. I'd pay to watch it." You see...he's not a reader. But he loves movies.

2019-2020: Putting the Dream on the Page

I wrote that dream. Over 135,000 words later, I learned I needed to cut a lot, split it into a few books, and figure out what Act 1, 2, and 3 actually meant.

Six Years of Editing, Reworking, and Not Giving Up

Over the last six years I've edited.

Reworked.

Edited some more.

And fingers crossed I'm at the very end of the editing process.

I've promised myself I'll query for an agent one more time. After that, it's up to me. Because I believe the world is waiting to hear what I have to say. I've already had 30 more dreams lined up and waiting to be written.
